Asif Sajan
Smooth. Easy to drink. Lightly infused. Aged to perfection. Just a few ways to describe the perfect whiskey– which didn’t exist pre-Masala. Our Founder wanted something that cascaded down the palate smoothly, without burn. Unable to find what he craved, Asif Sajan decided to make it himself.
Today, Asif’s creation is ever better than he ever imagined. Crafted from the highest grade corn, rye, and a bouquet of unique spices, each drop of Masala’s Canadian whiskey is a bitter-sweet symphony of the rich power of rye accompanied by the saccharine spirit of corn.
Our 3-year-aged corn and 4-year-aged rye collide with our signature spice fusion to deliver a beautifully-matured spiced blended whiskey with a higher degree of tannins and a feistier flavour profile – sans the harsh notes of its younger counterparts. Roy is no stranger to the nation’s hospitality sector. For over 20 years, this hospitality veteran has played a key role in curating and growing multiple successful restaurants. After two decades immersed in cuisine, Roy, a self-proclaimed foodie was exposed to his fair share of whiskeys, which soon become one of his primary passions.
Fascinated by whiskey’s versatility and the countless flavor profiles to explore, Roy quickly become a connoisseur. Before long, he began to crave something different, so he teamed up with Asif to bring Masala Whiskey to life. Together, the dynamic duo is proud to bring Canada’s most esteemed whiskey-drinkers a unique bourbon experience.
